Aquatics Program Specialist

At the YMCA of Greater Toronto, we are seeking a highly skilled Aquatics Program Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our Aquatics department, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating processes and systems that impact the experience of members in our aquatics programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement new aquatics programs and services that meet the needs of our members.
  • Provide leadership and support to supervisors in the development and modification of aquatics programs and events.
  • Deliver high-quality aquatics programs that meet the YMCA's standards and best practices.
  • Act as the Pool Operator and ensure the safety of all members, property, and staff.
  • Recruit, coach, and develop a team of volunteers, staff, and participants for aquatic leadership courses.
  • Build relationships with members and promote the YMCA's mission and values.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or degree in Recreation Leadership, Kinesiology, Physical Education, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience delivering aquatics programs.
  • Certifications in National Lifeguarding Service Award, Life Saving Society FA Instructor, Life Saving Society Lifesaving Instructor, YMCA Swim Instructors certification, YMCA Trainer, and Life Saving Society IT.
  • Current First Aid/CPR/AED certifications.
  • Previous experience in development and implementation of new programs an asset.
