Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant

The Georgetown Hospital Emergency Department is a dynamic and fast-paced environment that requires a skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant to join our team. As a PA in our ED, you will work collaboratively with our Senior ED physicians to provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the success of our multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough patient interviews and medical histories.
- Perform physical examinations and interpret findings.
- Organize laboratory and diagnostic investigations.
- Assist patients and families with the transition from ED to the community.
- Communicate effectively with ED physicians regarding updates and investigations.
- Perform acts under medical directives delegated by a physician.
- Perform other duties within your competencies as a Physician Assistant.
- Must be a PA Ontario Graduate from either McMaster or Consortium education program.
- Certified or eligible to be certified through the PACC.
- Current BCLS, ACLS required.
- Must have demonstrated an interest in the specialty of Emergency Medicine.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and with respect in both verbal and written format with patients, public, colleagues, and other health disciplines.
- Demonstrated competency to perform complete and appropriate clinical assessment and development of a treatment plan in accordance with medical directives.
- Proven problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work in a collaborative medical model of care with all members of the healthcare team.
- Satisfactory employment and attendance record.
