Physician Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our Emergency Department team at Halton Healthcare. As a Physician Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough patient interviews and take accurate medical histories.
- Perform physical examinations and interpret findings to inform treatment decisions.
- Organize and coordinate laboratory and diagnostic investigations to support patient care.
- Collaborate with patients and families to ensure a smooth transition from the Emergency Department to the community.
- Communicate effectively with Emergency Department physicians to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Perform acts under medical directives delegated by physicians, as authorized.
- Participate in other duties within your scope of practice as a Physician Assistant.
- Graduate of a Physician Assistant program in Ontario, either from McMaster or Consortium education.
- Certified or eligible for certification through the Physician Assistant Certification Council (PACC).
- Current Basic Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Demonstrated interest in the specialty of Emergency Medicine.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Proven ability to perform comprehensive clinical assessments and develop treatment plans in accordance with medical directives.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Satisfactory employment and attendance record.
This is a full-time position with various rotating 10-hour shifts, Monday to Sunday. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced Emergency Department environment, with a focus on providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team.
