Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage corporate files from open to close, ensuring timely completion and accuracy
  • Assist with annual report and minute book filing, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Prepare purchase and mortgage documents for registration at the Land Title Office, coordinating with clients and other stakeholders as needed
  • Register transfers, mortgages, and other documents for registration at the Land Title Office, ensuring smooth transaction processing
  • Prepare discharge of mortgages and report discharge particulars to purchaser's legal representatives, maintaining clear communication
  • Order payout statements on existing mortgages, managing financial transactions efficiently
  • Conduct title and off-title due diligence searches, providing valuable insights to support client decisions
  • Process transactions through BC Online and LTSA, leveraging technology to enhance productivity
  • Conduct name reservations and Will searches for estate matters, handling sensitive and confidential information with care
  • Draft initial Wills, Powers of Attorney, Representation Agreements, and other essential documents, applying expertise and attention to detail
  • File Wills Notices, ensuring timely submission and compliance
Qualifications:
  • Graduate from a recognized legal administrative assistant program
  • At least 5+ years of recent experience working as a corporate LAA, with a proven track record of success
  • Excellent technical skills, with familiarity with ALF Corporate, ESILaw, NetDocuments, BC Online, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Team player with the ability to work independently, with minimal supervision when needed
  • Strong prioritization skills, with the ability to manage deadlines and meet expectations
