CBC/Radio-Canada is a leader in creating content that informs and entertains Canadians. As a Content Producer for our Northern BC operation, you will be part of a team delivering high-quality editorial material for our local radio program, Daybreak North, and all CBC B.C.'s content platforms.

Your Role

As a Content Producer, you will contribute to the development of program content, pitch ideas, and assist in obtaining necessary resources. You will also assist in developing digital/video content, organize interviews, and create content for social platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Contribute to the creation of engaging program content, including researching, writing, and editing.
  2. Assist in organizing technical and production resources required by the program.
  3. Develop and edit digital/video content, including writing, researching, and field production.
  4. Organize the participation of interviewees, creative contributors, and other participants.
Requirements:
  • Strong writing and editorial abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain communication with a remote team.
  • Familiarity with social media research, development, and sourcing of stories.
  • Willingness to present on-air is an asset.

The ideal candidate will have community connections, a deep understanding of diversity, and familiarity with underrepresented communities in British Columbia and across Canada. The successful candidate will also have strong news judgment, desktop editing skills, and the ability to work flexible shifts.
