Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Dispensary Pharmacist to join our team at the University Hospital of Northern BC. As a key member of our pharmacy department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to our mission of delivering exceptional health services to Northerners.

Salary Information

The successful candidate can expect a competitive hourly rate of $51.37 - $64.19, as of April 1, 2024. Our comprehensive benefit packages, including extended health/dental and a municipal pension plan, demonstrate our commitment to supporting the well-being of our employees.

About the Role

In this exciting opportunity, you will have the chance to work collaboratively with members of the healthcare team to identify and resolve drug therapy problems and achieve patient care outcomes. You will also be responsible for interpreting medication orders/prescriptions, assessing prescriptions for therapeutic suitability, and ensuring that medications are efficiently and accurately dispensed and/or compounded and labelled.

Apart from your technical expertise, you will have the opportunity to communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and other healthcare professionals, using verbal and written communication means. Your ability to promote client-focused care, demonstrate empathy and understanding, and work collaboratively with others will make you an excellent fit for our team.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Current license of the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia
  • Active membership in the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists is encouraged
  • At least one year of related work in a hospital pharmacy, desirable
