About the Opportunity

The Dietitian is responsible for providing competent, safe, and ethical professional practice to patients, families, and communities. This role advises on diet and food and nutrition across all health sectors, leading team efforts to support nutritional health through health promotion, disease prevention, treatment, support, and rehabilitation.

The Dietitian is accountable for employing an evidence-informed approach to practice, participating in the Integrated Dietetic Internship program, and preceptoring dietetic interns. As a member of the inter-professional team, the Dietitian contributes to client care through collaboration with healthcare providers, sharing nutrition expertise, ensuring quality and continuity of care, and supporting a range of healthcare services.

About You

We are seeking a qualified Dietitian with a Bachelor's degree in Foods and Nutrition, a Dietetic Internship Program, and current registration with the Nova Scotia Dietetic Association. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of working experience as a Dietitian, inpatient clinical nutrition experience, and competency in dysphagia management, enteral, and parenteral nutrition. The ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and work under pressure is essential, as well as demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications and familiarity with the Meditech information system.

Hours and Compensation

This is a Permanent Part-time position with 60 hours biweekly. Hours may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. The hourly rate is $32.94 - $43.43.
