Job Summary:

The Medical Services Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating patient registration, processing medical records, and scheduling appointments within established guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify and transfer patient information into databases and health forms as required;
  • Coordinate the scanning of historical patient documentation to existing databases;
  • Schedule clinic appointments within set guidelines and procedures to accommodate various client needs;
  • Coordinating appointments for patients requiring multi-disciplinary sessions, minimizing inconvenience to clients;
  • Receive and relay messages via phone, email, and fax;
  • Copied and mailed information to clients and doctors;
  • Filing, maintaining, and retrieving patient charts as requested;
  • Liaise with patients, families, visitors, and staff as needed.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required;
  • Completion of a recognized business/secretarial program an asset;
  • Previous experience in a similar role preferred;
  • Accurate keyboarding and data entry skills required;
  • Organizational, analytical, time management, interpersonal, and communication skills required;
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, especially genetics, is a strong asset;
  • Familiarity with Telehealth and SMS (genetic chart management system) is a strong asset;
  • Competencies in other languages are an asset.

Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a team environment to provide adequate coverage for the service.

Compensation and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this role is between $23.3519 and $25.3918 per hour, depending on experience.
