Job Summary:

CPP Investments is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Investment Structure Management to join our Investment Structure Management team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the operational deal structuring and end-to-end management of the investment life cycle, as well as managing the operating risks of CPP Investments' group entities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the pre-close/structuring and ongoing maintenance of new investments, exits and restructurings, including:
  • Work with internal partners to identify and address structuring and operational complexities of CPP Investments legal entity structures
  • Coordinate the establishment of new legal entities and address legal and governance requirements in support of CPP Investments structures in partnership with investment teams and non-investment teams
  • Track deal timelines, develop a detailed plan including steps and timelines, maintain meeting minutes and project-manage completion of pre-close activities amongst internal partners

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Provide ongoing support to maintain and manage CPP Investments structures post-closing, including:
  • Oversee and manage legal entity workstreams relating to CPP Investments' investment structures, which involve collaborating with other internal partners (e.g. supporting legal entity internal recharges, ensuring proper legal entity health, monitoring internal and external debt arrangements)
  • Manage ongoing operational activities of wholly owned CPP Investments entities to ensure compliance with local legal and regulatory requirements
  • Contribute to materials related to legal entity compliance reporting to senior management for regular compliance review meetings
  • Lead a team who will provide additional day-to-day support in delivering investment structuring and ongoing management of investment structures
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement and innovation around how CPP Investments manages its investment structures
  • Partner with other internal CPP Investments partners to work on cross-functional workstreams and initiatives
  • Assist in various special projects and initiatives as CPP Investments works towards our enabling our Strategy

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of related work experience (e.g. finance, consulting, private equity, accounting firm, project management etc.)
  • A continuous learning mindset with a desire to learn about CPP Investments business and recommend innovative solutions to business problems
  • A professional designation such as CFA, CPA, CBV is considered an asset
  • Mergers & Acquisitions operational experience is an asset
  • Mendix) and using tools like Tableau or MSCoPilot are an asset
  • A track record of academic achievement and professional advancement
  • Exemplification of our Guiding Principles of partnership, integrity, and high performance
