Job Title: Counter Salesperson
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Counter Salesperson to join our team at EMCO Corporation. As a Counter Salesperson, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and organized sales area, and supporting customers with their purchasing needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide sales support to walk-in customers, answering questions and assisting with product selection
- Maintain a clean and organized sales area, including merchandising displays and inventory
- Enter, pick, and pack sales orders generated at the counter
- Process returns and warranty claims, including paperwork and communication with customers
- Follow up on backorders with vendors and provide customers with accurate delivery dates
- Perform other tasks as requested by the Profit Centre Manager
Requirements:
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; college and/or university degree an asset
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service or counter sales
- Outstanding customer service and verbal communication skills
- Excellent relationship building skills with customers, vendors, and teammates
- Ability to learn and operate applicable software systems
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Intermediate math skills with a strong attention to detail
Preferred Skills:
- Previous experience with or knowledge of plumbing and building products sold at the Profit Centre
- Ability to use the Internet as a resource to problem solve and find alternative solutions for customers
- Experience using Trend, Eclipse, Word, Excel, and Outlook
