About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Environmental Hazardous Waste Specialist to join our team in Red Deer, AB.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for handling, segregating, packing, and inspecting hazardous waste in accordance with Federal/Provincial/Local regulations and our company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assist with lab packs within customer facilities, household hazardous waste (HHW) collections, and lab moves.
- Inspect storage areas and drums for leaks or spills.
- Collect, segregate, and properly package waste chemicals for disposal to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance.
- Prepare computer-generated packing lists, labels, manifests, and land disposal restriction notifications.
- Safely operate vehicles in accordance with Federal and Provincial requirements.
- Follow all local, state/provincial, and federal compliance regulations and rules.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A strong understanding of Transportation of Dangerous Goods.
- A valid Class 3 Driver's License.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to perform physical functions per job requirements.
- Clean Shaven for work to wear Respirators.
