Electrical Inspector, Transmission

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Inspector to join our Power team at WSP Canada. As an Electrical Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring that electrical installations and infrastructure meet the required standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct on-site audits of electrical installations and infrastructure to ensure compliance with design, regulatory, and safety standards.
  • Verify that construction work is completed in accordance with design, regulatory, safety, and client standards.
  • Monitor contractor's corrective actions for violations of safety practices, plans, and procedures or regulatory requirements.
  • Issue Safety Non-Compliance Reports and Quality Non-Compliance Reports as required.
  • Perform final walk-downs to ensure scope of work is completed and ready for intended service.
Requirements:
  • Power Line Technician, Electrician Certificate, or equivalent Electrical Engineering education/experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in inspecting utility and infrastructure projects.
  • Member of the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) as a EIT or P.Eng desired.
  • Working knowledge of Electrical Utility Safety Rules and industry safe work practices.
  • Familiarity with Toronto Hydro Rule Book, THESL Distribution Standards, and Book 7.
  • Valid Ontario Drivers' License.
  • Ability to work outside in extreme weather and flexible on hours of work.
