Electrical Inspector Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Inspector to join our Power team at WSP Canada. This is a unique opportunity to work on a variety of exciting projects across the company, supporting the engineering staff in the design, construction, and maintenance of power transmission systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct on-site audits of hydro distribution installations to ensure compliance with design, regulatory, safety, and client standards.
  • Monitor asset conditions and construction activities to identify potential issues and ensure timely resolution.
  • Verify construction work is completed in accordance with design, regulatory, safety, and client standards, applicable laws, and guidelines.
  • Issue Safety Non-Compliance Reports and Quality Non-Compliance Reports as required.
  • Perform final walk-downs to ensure scope of work is completed and ready for intended service.
Requirements:
  • Power Line Technician, Electrician Certificate, or equivalent Electrical Engineering education/experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of dedicated experience in inspecting utility and infrastructure projects.
  • Member of the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) as a EIT or P.Eng desired.
  • Working knowledge of the Electrical Utility Safety Rules and industry safe work practices.
  • Familiarity with Toronto Hydro Rule Book, THESL Distribution Standards, and Book 7 is an asset.
