Job Title: Inspector

Telecon is seeking a skilled Inspector to join our team. As an Inspector, you will be responsible for providing full-time inspection services on client projects.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Set up work sites, pump out manholes, and enter confined spaces to inspect ducts/sleeves, cables, measurements, and structural integrity of manholes.
  • Monitor and ensure the safety of yourself, clients, and the public, adhering to Telecon's and client safety standards, as well as government regulations.
  • Report discrepancies between design drawings and onsite verification.
  • Communicate daily with Inspection Coordinators regarding field-related issues.
  • May participate in site visits with client Project Managers and Outside Plant Managers for newly constructed or proposed underground plants.
Requirements:
  • Civil, Electrical, or Architectural Engineering/Technology diploma preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in utility inspection/construction, telecommunication, hydro, or CATV environments.
  • Experience with placing underground structures, conduits, precast manholes, and GLBs.
  • Familiarity with permits and standards.
  • Experience in outside plant civil construction and Utility Underground Communication systems.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
