Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist II to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a key member of our laboratory department, you will be responsible for performing routine laboratory procedures and rotating through various disciplines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory tests and procedures in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
  • Rotate through various disciplines, including Chemistry, Hematology, Transfusion Medicine, Microbiology, and Anatomical Pathology.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely test results.
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with laboratory staff, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology program.
  • Eligibility for certification from the Canadian Society of Laboratory Technologists.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
