Medical Laboratory Assistant II

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Assistant II to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a key member of our laboratory department, you will be responsible for providing clinical support and performing various laboratory tasks.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and prepare specimens for testing, ensuring accurate and timely results
- Perform routine equipment cleaning and maintenance to ensure optimal laboratory function
- Assist with inpatient and outpatient Electro Cardiogram (ECG) testing and Holter monitor testing as required
- Explain test procedures to patients and provide excellent customer service
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure efficient and effective laboratory operations
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of a recognized Lab Assistant training program and one year of recent, related experience
- Ability to communicate effectively and work well in a team environment
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
- Ability to operate related equipment and type at 25 wpm
