We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Assistant II to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a key member of our laboratory department, you will be responsible for providing clinical support and performing various laboratory tasks.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and prepare specimens for testing, ensuring accurate and timely results.
- Perform routine equipment cleaning and maintenance to ensure optimal laboratory function.
- Assist with inpatient and outpatient Electro Cardiogram (ECG) testing and Holter monitor testing as required.
- Explain test procedures to patients and provide excellent customer service.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure efficient and accurate testing processes.
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of a recognized Lab Assistant training program plus one year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively and work in a team environment.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
