About the Role:

As a key member of AGF Investments' leadership team, the Vice President, Product Strategy will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's product development and management strategy. This individual will lead the execution of ambitious product development initiatives, with a focus on expanding AGF's private and liquid alternatives solutions, as well as evolving its global equity and fixed income offerings. The successful candidate will serve as the primary liaison between investment management, distribution, affiliate managers, and other internal and external business partners to drive the development of AGF's future product line-up.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop and present business cases for new investment products, including competitor analysis, market intelligence, and sizing.
  • Advise the business on optimal product structures and characteristics for global distribution, considering vehicle structures and regulatory regimes.
  • Collaborate with Product Operations and Governance to manage the execution of launches, partnering with senior stakeholders to drive implementation.
  • Oversee strategic product restructuring initiatives and serve as a senior member of the team, managing junior/mid-level team members.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams across the business and participate in industry body working groups.
  • Work collaboratively with Marketing & Innovation to support Distribution with effective marketing plans and materials.

Your Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years' experience in investment product development and/or global product structuring, with a minimum of 3 years' experience in structuring alternative investment solutions.
  • Knowledge of Canadian, U.S., and Europe-domiciled investment product-related vehicles, including a working knowledge of investment strategies and styles employed by fixed income, equity, and alternative portfolio managers.
  • Understanding of operational aspects of alternative product development, such as capital call processes.
  • Strong knowledge of investment industry services and distribution channels.
  • People management experience and ability to build relationships with teams across the organization.
  • Undergraduate degree required, with CFA, MBA, or Masters in Finance or Economics a plus.
