Trauma Services Lead

Island Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead the development of specialty-specific standards for the clinical transformation of our Electronic Health Record (EHR). As the IHealth Specialty Lead –Trauma Services, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our EHR meets the clinical workflow requirements and best practice standards for trauma care.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement standardized documentation requirements for trauma care, in collaboration with island-wide specialty groups and medical staff.
- Lead the development and adoption of condition-specific documentation and specialty-specific requirements.
- Harmonize order sets for use on paper and in Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE) systems, ensuring adherence to Island Health's order set construct and style guide principles.
- Collaborate with informatics, pharmacy, nursing, and allied health teams to ensure successful development and adoption of clinical order sets.
- Support overall IHealth change management by actively engaging with specialty colleagues to support change, including participating in workflow validation, simulation exercises, and advising on education platforms and curriculum.
- Ensure that clinical and professional legislative, accreditation, or practice requirements are met.
- Participate in testing events to ensure the design of the EHR meets clinical workflow requirements and best practice standards.
- Contribute to the evaluation of the EHR and related systems through participating in lessons learned, provider experience feedback, benefits evaluation, and metrics.
- Strong understanding of clinical workflow requirements and best practice standards for trauma care.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with island-wide specialty groups and medical staff.
- Ability to lead the development and implementation of standardized documentation requirements and condition-specific documentation.
- Experience with order set development and implementation, including harmonization with CPOE systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate the effectiveness of the EHR and related systems.
