Job Title: IHealth Specialty Lead –Trauma Services

Island Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead the development of clinical standards and order sets for Trauma Services. As an IHealth Specialty Lead, you will play a critical role in ensuring that healthcare providers have the necessary tools and resources to deliver high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement clinical standards and order sets for Trauma Services, in collaboration with healthcare providers and other stakeholders.
  • Lead the development of condition-specific documentation and specialty-specific requirements, ensuring that they are aligned with Island Health's Medical Staff Rules and Regulations.
  • Work with the island-wide specialty group to promote standardized documentation requirements and ensure that condition-specific documentation or specialty-specific requirements are developed and adopted.
  • Lead the harmonization of order sets for use both on paper and after Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE) implementations, ensuring that they are aligned with Island Health's standards and best practices.
  • Ensure that clinical and professional legislative, accreditation, or practice requirements are met, and participate in testing events to ensure that the Electronic Health Record (EHR) meets clinical workflow requirements and best practice requirements.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of the EHR and related systems, participating in lessons learned, provider experience feedback, benefits evaluation, and metrics.

  • Experience in clinical standards development and implementation.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with healthcare providers and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex clinical information and develop effective solutions.
