Academic Advisor Position at University of Toronto

The University of Toronto is seeking an Academic Advisor to support the academic success of undergraduate students at U of T Mississauga. Reporting to the Assistant Registrar, Academic Advising Services, the Academic Advisor will provide advising services to students, assisting them in making decisions affecting their academic progress from enrollment through to graduation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide academic advising services to undergraduate students, interpreting University policies and procedures, and assisting with course selection and degree requirements.
- Keep well-informed on University programs, policies, and procedures, and communicate them effectively to students.
- Develop and maintain relationships with students, faculty, and staff to promote a supportive academic environment.
- Conduct presentations and workshops to promote programs, opportunities, and initiatives.
- Collaborate with other student service areas to provide comprehensive support to students.
Requirements:
Minimum four years' experience working in a high-pressure, direct student services university environment.
Experience advising students on undergraduate academic requirements, policies, and procedures.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presenting and public speaking.
Strong commitment to diversity and the ability to function with sensitivity and respect in a multicultural/international environment.
Proficiency in the use of MS Office, Student Information Systems, and ability to learn new applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in the Office of the Registrar.
Working knowledge of a student ticketing system.

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:
USW Pay Band 12 -- $79,874. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $102,147. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
