Job Title: Daycare Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Daycare Support Worker to join our team at Family and Children's Services Niagara. As a key member of our childcare team, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for children to grow and develop.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with implementing developmentally appropriate educational programs for children, including arranging playroom equipment and cleaning toys and equipment.
  • Carry out daily routines such as toileting, preparing and serving snacks and lunches, and directing children in the general tidiness of the playroom and housekeeping in all areas.
  • Recognize unusual behavior in children and take preventative and remedial action under the guidance of ECE staff.
  • Report child protection concerns to Family and Children's Services Niagara.
  • Ensure adequate sanitary and housekeeping standards are maintained and perform vacuuming, loading or unloading the dishwasher, and other housekeeping duties.
  • Complete visual health and safety inspections on a regular basis.
  • Record attendance daily and complete health incident forms for children in their care as needed.
  • Inform the Day Care Team Lead of situations that affect the efficient operation of the program or have implications for the Agency.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma
  • Experience working with children, youth, and families
  • Valid standard First Aid and CPR Certificate (preferred)
  • Valid G Driver's License and access to a reliable motor vehicle with appropriate liability insurance
