About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Childcare Support Worker to join our team at Family and Children's Services Niagara. As a key member of our childcare team, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for children to thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for children, including cleaning and sanitizing toys and equipment.
  • Support the implementation of developmentally appropriate educational programs for children, including planning and preparing activities.
  • Assist with daily routines such as toileting, preparing and serving snacks and lunches, and directing children in tidiness and housekeeping.
  • Recognize and respond to unusual behavior in children, and report any concerns to ECE staff.
  • Ensure adequate sanitary and housekeeping standards are maintained, and perform vacuuming, loading or unloading the dishwasher, and other housekeeping duties.
  • Complete visual health and safety inspections on a regular basis, and record attendance and health incidents as needed.
  • Participate in team and staff meetings, and support the team in achieving department and children's needs.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma
  • Experience working with children, youth, and families
  • Valid standard First Aid and CPR Certificate (preferred)
  • Valid G Driver's License and access to a reliable motor vehicle with appropriate liability insurance
