Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager, Assurance and Accounting to lead our team in providing exceptional audit and assurance services to our clients. This is a unique opportunity to work with a growing accounting firm in Calgary, Alberta.

About the Role
  • Lead a high-performing team to achieve outstanding results for clients
  • Oversee compilation, review, audit, and bookkeeping processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all paperless working papers, adjusting journal entries, and financial statements
  • Identify and resolve issues, discrepancies, and errors, collaborating with management and engagement partners to develop effective solutions
  • Manage multiple engagements simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines
  • Conduct routine account analysis and bookkeeping using established procedures
  • Work closely with clients using accounting software, providing support and guidance as needed
  • Track and report billable time accurately, adhering to Firm specifications
Key Qualifications
  • Professional designation (CPA) required
  • 8-10 years of relevant public accounting experience, with a minimum of 5 years of leadership experience supporting multiple clients
  • Strong understanding of audit concepts and ability to apply knowledge effectively in client situations
  • Proven track record of leading teams through the entire audit process, preparing comprehensive financial statements and related disclosures
  • Familiarity with CaseWare, QuickBooks, and tax software systems
  • Critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify issues and provide solutions
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, managing multiple assignments in an organized manner
