Associate Director of Black Student Centre

The Associate Director of the Black Student Centre is a key member of the Student Services Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) management team at Simon Fraser University. This role oversees the Centre's strategic success, fulfilling its mandate, roles, and responsibilities. The Associate Director actively engages in the development and implementation of programs and organizational change initiatives that advance the institution's commitment to Black flourishing and inclusion.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the Centre's strategic success, fulfilling its mandate, roles, and responsibilities.
- Develop and implement programs and organizational change initiatives that advance the institution's commitment to Black flourishing and inclusion.
- Work closely with the Director of EDI to ensure strategic planning for the BSC.
- Prioritize the social and psychological well-being of Black students while promoting their holistic well-being and success.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Social Work, Education, or related social science discipline.
- Five years of related experience in areas such as EDI, with evidence of management level experience with professional teams.
- Excellent knowledge of student development theory and outreach programs for post-secondary Black students.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of the core constructs of history and contemporary issues that produce complex crisis and trauma for Black students.
