Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Plastic Extrusion Operator to join our team at Meltech Plastics Corporation. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our extrusion equipment, ensuring high-quality products are produced efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and perform minor adjustments to equipment to optimize production
  • Weigh and mix resins, colorants, and chemicals according to precise formulae
  • Monitor and inspect the quality of materials produced, identifying and addressing any defects
  • Unload and transport mixture to further processing areas
  • Set up and operate extruding machines to produce plastic compounds
  • Organize and maintain inventory of raw materials and finished products
  • Adjust processing machines and equipment to meet production demands
  • Take samples of materials for quality control purposes
  • Ensure all health and safety regulations are followed, maintaining a safe working environment
  • Clean and maintain workspaces to prevent contamination and ensure efficiency
  • Record production information, including quality control data and inventory levels
Requirements
  • Education: Other trades certificate or diploma
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to distinguish between colors
  • Repetitive tasks
  • Attention to detail
  • Manual dexterity
  • Hand-eye coordination
  • Standing for extended periods
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Organized and reliable
