Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Plastic Extrusion Specialist to join our team at Meltech Plastics Corporation. As an essential member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our extruding machines, ensuring the highest quality of plastic compounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and make minor adjustments to equipment to optimize production efficiency.
  • Weigh and mix resins, colorants, and other chemicals according to precise formulae to achieve desired product properties.
  • Monitor and inspect the quality of material produced, identifying and addressing any defects or irregularities.
  • Unload mixture into containers or conveyors for further processing, ensuring smooth workflow and minimal downtime.
  • Set up and operate extruding machines to extrude plastic compounds through nozzles or dies, adhering to strict quality control standards.
  • Organize and maintain inventory of raw materials and finished products, ensuring accurate tracking and minimal waste.
  • Adjust processing machines and equipment to optimize performance and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Take samples of finished products for quality control and testing purposes.
  • Start up, shut down, and troubleshoot equipment to ensure seamless production operations.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Record production information, including quality control data and equipment performance metrics.
Requirements
  • Education: Other trades certificate or diploma.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years, or equivalent experience.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
