We are seeking a skilled Plastic Extrusion Specialist to join our team at Meltech Plastics Corporation. As an Extruder Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our extruding machines, ensuring the quality of the plastic compound produced, and adhering to health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and make minor adjustments to equipment to optimize production efficiency.
- Weigh resins, colorants, and other chemicals according to formulae to ensure accurate compound production.
- Monitor and inspect the quality of the material produced, taking samples as necessary.
- Unload mixture into containers or conveyors for further processing, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Set up and operate extruding machines to extrude plastic compound through a nozzle or die, adjusting processing machines and equipment as needed.
- Organize and maintain inventory, ensuring accurate records of production information.
- Ensure health and safety regulations are followed, reporting any incidents or concerns to management.
- Education: Other trades certificate or diploma.
- Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to distinguish between colors, perform repetitive tasks, and maintain attention to detail.
- Manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to stand for extended periods.
- Excellent oral communication skills, with a strong focus on teamwork and reliability.
