Project Director Job Description

Chandos Construction Inc is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Director to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, the Project Director will be responsible for the execution of our construction services for assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage project teams to achieve project deliverables
  • Determine resources required to complete projects in accordance with project commitments
  • Guide project teams in the structure and delivery of project bids, budgeting, and pre-construction services
  • Manage client relationships to ensure a great experience and client retention
  • Provide preconstruction leadership to project teams, challenging them to deliver value-based design
  • Align project execution plans with Chandos' core ideology, providing oversight on project goals, objectives, risks, assumptions, budgets, staffing requirements, responsibility matrices, work breakdown structures, milestones, and deliverables
  • Support a safety culture that aligns with corporate strategies and core values
Requirements:
  • Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Architecture, Construction Management, or equivalent construction experience
  • Gold Seal Certification (GSC) required
  • Fifteen or more years of experience in commercial construction
  • Ten or more years of direct work experience in construction project management
  • Demonstrated success in multiple project delivery methods
  • Highly effective negotiation, diplomacy, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Lean Construction understanding, education is an asset
  • Strong mentorship and coaching skills
  • High level of self-awareness, entrepreneurial mindset, and established personal values
  • Understanding of corporate finance and governance
