Job SummaryThe Director of Data Engineering will be a key member of our Technical Delivery team, serving as a subject matter expert in data engineering. This role requires a strong technical background, leadership skills, and the ability to provide guidance to team members. The successful candidate will manage a team of data engineers, develop and mentor talented project consultants, and contribute to the successful delivery of projects.
Key Responsibilities- Work with team members to define project scope, requirements, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with client expectations.
- Manage a team of data engineers, including developing, mentoring, and retaining talented project consultants.
- Design and build data ingestion and transformation pipelines using classic and modern tools, promoting best practices and managing technical risk.
- Establish standard design patterns and data flow documents for enterprise data warehousing solutions.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including senior management, to provide project updates and ensure goal achievement.
- Collaborate with data science and analytics teams to understand their data needs and build systems to support their work.
- Manage project timelines, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality work.
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, with expertise in building data pipelines and warehouses.
- 2+ years of experience leading a team of Data Engineers, including performance management, mentoring, and hiring.
- Solid experience with data integration, ETL solutions, and modern data engineering languages and platforms.
- Degree in Engineering fields or related industry experience.
- Specialized training or certification in data engineering technologies is an asset.
