We are seeking a highly skilled Commodities Risk Management Specialist to join our team at Nutreco in Puslinch, Ontario. This role will be responsible for developing and executing risk management strategies to mitigate price fluctuations in the commodities market.

As a Commodities Risk Management Specialist, you will play a critical role in safeguarding our company's exposure to commodity price volatility and supporting strategic decision-making.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Analyze market trends and commodity price movements to identify potential risks and opportunities
  • Develop and execute hedging strategies using derivatives, futures, options, and swaps to mitigate price risks
  • Monitor risk exposures and adjust strategies as needed to ensure alignment with business objectives
  • Prepare and present risk reports to senior leadership to inform strategic decisions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, operations, and finance, to align risk strategies with broader business goals
  • Engage with external partners and maintain market awareness to stay ahead of market trends and developments

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field; CFA or FRM preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience in commodities risk management, with hands-on experience with derivatives, futures, options, and swaps
  • Familiarity with risk management software and trading platforms is an asset
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex risk management concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Bilingual French and English is an asset
