About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Commodity Risk Specialist - Strategic Asset Protection to join our team in Guelph, Ontario. This critical role involves safeguarding the company's exposure to commodity price volatility by developing and executing risk management strategies.

In this position, you'll utilize your expertise in commodities and analytical skills to analyze market trends, monitor price movements, and provide actionable insights to senior leadership. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, operations, and finance, to align risk strategies with broader business objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze market trends and commodity price movements to inform risk management decisions
  • Develop and execute hedging strategies to mitigate price risks
  • Monitor risk exposures and adjust strategies as needed to ensure optimal asset protection
  • Prepare and present risk reports to senior leadership to ensure informed decision-making
  • Evaluate regulatory requirements and internal policies to ensure compliance
  • Collaborate with external partners to maintain market awareness and stay up-to-date on industry developments
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field; CFA or FRM certification preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in commodities risk management, with hands-on experience in derivatives, futures, options, and swaps
  • Proficiency in risk management software and trading platforms is an asset
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with ability to engage stakeholders at various levels
  • Bilingual French and English language skills are an asset
Compensation Package

The estimated salary for this role is between $80,000-$110,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. In addition to a competitive salary, you'll enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, HSA, maternal top-up, tuition reimbursement, and 15 vacation days. A robust pension plan with employer matching also begins on Day 1.
