Job Title: BSW or Mental Health Counsellor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate BSW or Mental Health Counsellor to join our team at Brightshores. As a key member of our Addiction Treatment Services, you will provide high-quality assessments, counselling, and treatment planning to clients in our Rapid Access Addiction Medicine Clinic (RAAM).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counselling sessions to clients with substance use disorders and mental health concerns
  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop treatment plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Work closely with clients, families, and community providers to ensure seamless care coordination
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of program policies and procedures
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in addiction treatment and mental health services

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field
  • Current registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) or the College of Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO)
  • Minimum two years' experience working in a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience in addiction services, crisis intervention, and emergency psychiatry
  • Strong assessment and treatment planning skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPR and CPI certification
  • GAIN Q3 and/or ADAT certification
  • Experience working with DATIS and Motivational Interviewing
