Job Title: BSW or Mental Health Counsellor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced BSW or Mental Health Counsellor to join our team at Brightshores. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for implementing services that meet the needs of individuals with symptoms of mental health and addiction illness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement services that meet the needs of individuals with symptoms of mental health and addiction illness, utilizing Recovery Principles.
  • Function independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team, working collaboratively with multiple partners.
  • Travel within the catchment area of Grey and Bruce County to provide services.
  • Work in the Crisis Support Program and may be deployed to support the Crisis Intervention Team, Inpatient Psychiatric Unit, or the Outpatient Mental Health Team as required.

Qualifications:

  • BSW: Bachelor's degree in Social Work and membership in the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).
  • MHC-B: Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology or a related health or Social Service field, and current registration in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).
  • Both: Minimum 5 years recent experience working in the community with individuals with significant mental health needs, knowledge of the Mental Health Act, familiarity with DSM-V, and training and experience in Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Single Session Therapy, Group therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.

Requirements:

  • Valid Ontario Class 'G' driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
  • Proven ability to work cooperatively in a team setting.
  • Able to work all shifts, 24/7 (days, nights, evenings and weekends).
  • Recent satisfactory performance and attendance record.
  • Adherence to Brightshores 'CARE' Behaviours and 'LEAD' Competencies.
