We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced BSW or Mental Health Counsellor to join our team at Brightshores. As a Crisis Support Professional, you will be responsible for implementing services that meet the needs of individuals with symptoms of mental health and addiction illness, utilizing Recovery Principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement services that meet the needs of individuals with symptoms of mental health and addiction illness
  • Work collaboratively with multiple partners, including the Crisis Intervention Team, Inpatient Psychiatric Unit, and Outpatient Mental Health Team
  • Travel within the catchment area of Grey and Bruce County
  • Deploy to support the Crisis Intervention Team, Inpatient Psychiatric Unit, or Outpatient Mental Health Team as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work and membership in the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW)
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related health or Social Service field
  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO)
  • Minimum 5 years recent experience working in the community with individuals with significant mental health needs
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and familiarity with DSM-V
  • Training and experience in Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Single Session Therapy, Group therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy
  • Knowledge and appreciation of Recovery Principles
  • Knowledge of side effects of medication and strategies to cope with those side effects
  • Valid Ontario Class 'G' driver's license and access to reliable transportation
  • Proven ability to work cooperatively in a team setting
  • Able to work all shifts, 24/7 (days, nights, evenings and weekends)
  • Recent satisfactory performance and attendance record
  • Adherence to Brightshores 'CARE' Behaviours and 'LEAD' Competencies
