Job Title: Security Officer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team at Armour Security & Protection Services Corp. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our clients' assets and employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lawful and Ethical Conduct: Act lawfully and with honesty and integrity, treating everyone with courtesy, equality, and without discrimination.
  • Licensing and Identification: Always carry a valid security worker's license while on duty.
  • Punctuality and Appearance: Arrive on time, in uniform, and neatly dressed.
  • Surveillance and Theft Prevention: Be vigilant for theft and assist store employees by creating a deterrent to theft through presence and apprehension of shoplifters.
  • Arrest and Use of Force: Ensure arrests comply with the Criminal Code of Canada (Sections , 25 & 26).
  • Pursuit of Suspects: Pursue shoplifters safely and only on foot, avoiding unsafe actions such as vehicular pursuits.
  • Incident Reporting: Report all criminal incidents to store management and submit detailed reports before the end of your shift.
  • Interaction with Customers and Employees: Limit conversations to necessary interactions and refrain from using personal electronic devices except in emergencies.
  • Shift Protocols: Report to store management at the beginning of each shift and sign the security log.

Requirements:

  • License: Valid Security Worker's License.
  • Certification: Current basic Security Training (BST) certificate.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of AST experience (required).
  • Skills: Excellent communication, observational, and problem-solving skills.
