Portable Plant Operator

The Portable Operator will be responsible for performing a combination of tasks at the Rip Rap Portable plant, including organizing and maintaining the site, operating fixed and mobile equipment, and performing routine maintenance and repairs. The successful candidate will also be required to communicate and work closely with the Manager on inventory management and plant operations.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the safe operation of the plant and equipment, adhering to all Lafarge and regulatory guidelines.
- Operate heavy equipment, including excavators and wheel loaders, to process materials and feed the crusher.
- Perform daily inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure the plant is running efficiently.
- Assist with plant repairs and maintenance as needed.
- Work at heights and in confined spaces, and perform other duties as assigned.
- Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
- Industrial or mining plant experience an asset.
- Heavy equipment operation experience an asset.
- Basic welding and fitting skills preferred but not required.
The Portable Operator will work outdoors in varied temperatures and weather conditions, and indoors in a noisy and dusty environment. Rotating shifts, overtime, and weekends may be required.
