Job Overview

The Director, Physical Infrastructure and Sustainability at Memorial University is a strategic leader responsible for facilities planning, design, engineering, renewal, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for the planning, design, and construction of university major and minor capital projects.
  • Manage the multi-year, multi-million-dollar capital deferred renewal program.
  • Champion sustainability and climate action, and guide the development and implementation of programs and policies for sustainability, space planning, and infrastructure requirements.
Requirements

You must be a strategic leader with superb communication and negotiating skills, able to solve problems and build strong relationships. Experience in leading major capital projects, preferably in large complex organizations, is essential.

A bachelor's degree in engineering or architecture, or extensive experience in a comparable role, is required. Significant project management skills, sound knowledge of construction and the construction industry, and experience managing a team of professionals are also necessary.

Eligibility for membership in the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador is mandatory. Knowledge of and experience working with building fire and accessibility codes are considered an asset.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $113,229 – 148,986 per annum, with competitive compensation and a wide range of benefit programs offered by Memorial University.
