As a Registered Clinical Counsellor with pt Health, you will be part of a collaborative team environment that prioritizes interdisciplinary collaboration and a bio-psycho-social approach to intervention. You will work with a diverse adult population, addressing psychosocial problems related to injury, trauma, and mental illness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide counselling services to clients referred privately, by employers, by various insurance companies, and other third-party organizations.
- Adopt a goal-focussed, therapeutic approach for alleviating distress and improving social and occupational functioning.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences to discuss clients' treatment plans and goals.
- Deliver quality reporting and effective communication with all stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Clinical Counsellors must have a Master's degree in Counselling/Clinical Psychology and be registered with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors or the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.
- Experience in case conceptualization and treatment of a range of mental health symptoms with a variety of adult clients.
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Registered Clinical Counsellor.
- Clinical knowledge in areas of grief/loss, depression, anxiety, trauma, and adjustment issues.
- Knowledge of psychological management of chronic pain and concussive syndrome an asset.
- Training and experience with cognitive behavioural therapy approaches.
- Experience working as part of a multi/interdisciplinary team.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, solid judgement, and integrity.
