Job Title: Visual Inspection Technician

BWXT Canada Ltd. is a leading provider of nuclear power generation equipment and services. We are seeking a skilled Visual Inspection Technician to join our team in Cambridge, Ontario.

Job Summary

The Visual Inspection Technician will work in a team environment, under the direction of the Lead Technician, to complete equipment assessment and testing tasks. They will document all tasks per our procedures and MITP's. The Technician will also deploy to customer job sites as required for Outages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Independently undertake moderately complex technical assignments that are part of an ongoing engineering program in support of activities such as operation of equipment and systems.
  • Review and understand Visual Inspection operating procedures and technicians qualifications.
  • During project execution responsible for setting up and maintaining equipment.
  • Work independently with general supervision.
  • Support Waterlancing as required.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in a technical field is preferred.
  • 2 - 3 years experience in a related field would be a preference.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Field projects require shift work and extended hours.
  • Extensive site work is required (50% - 60%).
  • Previous experience at a Nuclear Facility is an asset.
  • Visual inspection equipment (cameras & video probes) / control system knowledge is required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance in order to gain access to nuclear power plant sites.
  • Must be willing to work in a radiological environment.
