About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Insurance Underwriter Assistant to join our dynamic team in Toronto. As an Underwriting Technical Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting our GCS Underwriting teams in driving business growth, delivering exceptional customer experiences, and achieving desired outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support underwriters in risk analysis, policy processing, and transaction management, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of services.
  • Built strong relationships with internal stakeholders, MGAs, brokers, and external partners, providing operational support and effective communication.
  • Processed transactions, managed documentation, and maintained book of business records, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Maintained billing and stakeholder communication, providing timely updates and resolving issues promptly.
  • Supported performance reporting through KPIs, identifying challenges, and suggesting process improvements.
Requirements:
  • Post-graduate degree and practical experience in insurance or a related field (an asset).
  • Bilingualism (French and English) required for effective communication with customers, partners, and internal teams.
  • Minimum 2 years commercial insurance experience in a progressive underwriting support role, with bilingual skills considered an asset.
  • Actively pursuing CIP and/or CRM certifications in good standing (considered an asset).
  • Excellent MS Excel skills, attention to detail, and time management skills in an underwriting environment.
