About the Role
New Westminster Schools is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Technology and Information Services to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the effective use of technology to support our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a strategic technology plan to support the district's goals and objectives.
- Provide leadership and vision for the development and implementation of technology infrastructure and services.
- Oversee the design and construction of new systems and applications.
- Supervise and support the work of all Technology and Information Services staff.
- Manage the Information Technology and Information Services budget and expenditures.
- Negotiate with software and hardware vendors on pricing and terms and conditions for major acquisitions and renewals of software and hardware contracts.
- Research and implement leading edge educational software and technologies to support student needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or relevant post-secondary education, or equivalent of education and work experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, preferably in a public sector or large complex organization.
- Considerable experience and success with integrating new technologies and methodologies into a large organization.
