Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Diagnostic Clerk to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. As a Diagnostic Clerk, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Diagnostic Services Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform various administrative tasks, including data entry, record-keeping, and communication with clients and staff.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of diagnostic information, including test results and patient records.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including patient information, test results, and other relevant data.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • Recent experience in a hospital or medical clinic setting, preferably with direct public contact and diagnostic service information.
  • Excellent knowledge of Windows-based programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to learn new concepts quickly.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work with minimal supervision and frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team and respect and promote culturally diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in office administration or a related field.
  • Experience with office equipment, including computers, fax machines, and copiers.
  • Ability to speak Cree or other Indigenous languages an asset.
Working Conditions
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer.
  • Interacts with the public.
  • Sitting for long periods.
