Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Diagnostic Clerk to join our team at Shared Health. As a Diagnostic Clerk, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Diagnostic Services Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform various administrative tasks, including data entry, record-keeping, and communication with clients and staff.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of diagnostic information, including patient records and test results.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Collaborate with the Charge Technologist and Diagnostic Support Supervisor to ensure seamless department operations.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients, staff, and other stakeholders to promote a positive and respectful work environment.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • Completion of post-secondary education in office administration through a business school or college is an asset.
  • Excellent knowledge of Windows-based programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work with minimal supervision and frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team and promote a culturally diverse population.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to work independently, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to make decisions and demonstrate problem-solving skills, with a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hospital or medical clinic experience with direct public contact and experience with diagnostic service information.
  • Recent experience with office equipment, including computers, fax machines, and copiers.
  • Ability to speak Cree is an asset.
