Job Summary

The Diagnostic Imaging Clerk is a key member of the Shared Health team, responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support in the Diagnostic Imaging department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receiving and processing patient requisitions and scheduling diagnostic imaging examinations using the Radiology Information System (RIS)
  • Acting as a receptionist to patients, providing a warm and welcoming experience
  • Obtaining, entering, and updating patient/film information and registering patients on the computer system
  • Retrieving digital images, filing, and retrieving DI films/digital images and CDs/DVDs
  • Providing digital images/films to physicians upon request and sending digital images/films and/or reports to various facilities
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a Patient Registration department or related field is an asset
  • Grade 12 or recognized equivalent is required
  • Successful completion of a recognized Medical Administrative Assistant Program or equivalent is preferred
  • Keyboard speed of 35 wpm is required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and adapt to stressful situations
Working Conditions

The Diagnostic Imaging Clerk will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals. Physical ability to assist patients in wheelchairs is required.
