About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Support Specialist to join our team at BCJobs. As an IT Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional technical support to our users, resolving operational and technical issues, and ensuring that all incidents are documented and resolved within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide Technical Support: Respond to and resolve technical issues and requests from users, providing timely and effective solutions to ensure minimal disruption to business operations.
  2. Hardware and Software Management: Deploy, configure, and maintain IT hardware and software, including desktops, laptops, and peripherals, to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  3. Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure an adequate supply of IT equipment, and maintain accurate records of inventory and asset management.
  4. Incident Documentation: Ensure that all incidents, notes, and updates are documented in a timely manner within our JIRA Service Management Tool, to facilitate effective issue tracking and resolution.
  5. On-Call Support: Participate in the after-hours on-call rotation, providing support and assistance to users outside of regular business hours.
Requirements
  1. Technical Experience: Prior work experience in a HelpDesk or similar technical support role, with a strong understanding of IT systems and technologies.
  2. Communication Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills, with the ability to effectively interact with users, stakeholders, and vendors.
  3. Education: Post-secondary education in a related field, such as computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  4. Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated analytical problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  5. Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of Windows 10/11, Mac iOS, Active Directory and Azure Entra, iOS and Android operating systems, device management, Microsoft Office 365 applications, minor cybersecurity incidents, basic networking, and basic computer troubleshooting.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $55,000, and the possibility to move to a hybrid role after successful completion of a 3-month probation period. This is a full-time position based in our Burnaby office, with opportunities for growth and development within our team.
