Job Title: Intake Assessment Worker

At All Nations Coordinated Response Network, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Intake Assessment Worker to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Intake Assessment Worker will be responsible for providing intake case services to families and children within our jurisdiction, prioritizing intake activities, and ensuring follow-up to intake issues and needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct child protection investigations and apprehend children at risk, placing them in appropriate and/or available placements.
  • Initiate referrals to other community collaterals as appropriate and complete written reports, file recordings, forms, and correspondence as required.
  • Assess requests for service with reference to risk of children, overall functioning, and service needs of families.
  • Provide emergency response and crisis intervention, ensuring follow-up to intake issues and needs.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a child welfare environment, Child and Family Services protection experience an asset.
  • Knowledge of substance abuse, family violence, child development, child abuse/neglect, and community resources.
  • Demonstrated skills in areas of crisis intervention, child protection investigation, and assessing high-risk situations that require an immediate response.
  • Knowledge and understanding of multi-cultural issues and demonstrated skill working cross-culturally.
  • Excellent organizational, computer, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated skill in working as part of a team.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage workload in a team environment.
  • Fluency in French and/or an Indigenous language is an asset.
