- Analyze operating costs and other data to optimize kitchen efficiency.
- Develop and implement new cooking techniques and equipment training for cooking staff.
- Supervise specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
- Create innovative recipes and menus that meet quality standards.
- Train and instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food.
- Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient food preparation.
- Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions.
- Requisition food and kitchen supplies to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs to ensure kitchen equipment is in good working order.
- Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities for multiple restaurants.
- Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards.
- Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
- Recruit and hire staff to join our culinary team.
- Supervise activities of sous-chefs, specialist chefs, chefs, and cooks to ensure kitchen operations run smoothly.
- Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
- Lead and instruct individuals to achieve kitchen excellence.
- 1-2 years of experience in a similar role.
- College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1-2 years.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and stand for extended periods.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
