Indigenous Engagement Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Indigenous Engagement Specialist - Project Coordinator to join our team in Toronto, ON. As a key member of our Indigenous and Stakeholder Engagement and Information Management (ISEIM) team, you will work collaboratively to provide support for our clients to help them meet their project objectives.
About the RoleThis is a hybrid role with expected travel for client service delivery work. You will consult with public, private businesses, government agencies, and Indigenous groups to support projects. Your responsibilities will include logistical and organizational administrative support, communication materials development, event management, and quality assurance.
As an ideal candidate, you have a Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, business management, or a related field, and a minimum of 5+ years relevant work experience in Indigenous and/or stakeholder engagement or related experience in resource development.
Key Responsibilities- Consult with public, private businesses, government agencies, and Indigenous groups to support projects
- Provide logistical and organizational administrative support, including capturing meeting notes, preparing meeting agendas, community research, and profiles
- Develop communication materials and engagement strategies for projects in various sectors
- Support clients in the field with individuals, communities, Indigenous groups, and local governments
- Oversee and facilitate stakeholder meetings, public events, and community liaison committees
- Evaluate and ensure that the highest standards of quality and compliance are maintained
- Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, business management, or a related field
- Minimum 5+ years relevant work experience in Indigenous and/or stakeholder engagement or related experience in resource development
- Organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a constantly changing environment
- Strong written communication skills, including the ability to write and edit for different clientele
- A self-starter attitude with confidence to execute new projects
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Experience building and maintaining client relationships
