Taxation Leadership Specialist

Overview

MNP is a leading professional services firm that provides audit, tax, and consulting services to organizations across Canada. We are seeking an experienced Taxation Leadership Specialist to join our team in a leadership role.

About the Role

This senior-level position will lead multiple client-facing engagement teams responsible for delivering customized tax strategies to clients. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of Canadian taxation and a proven track record of success in public accounting or tax consulting. A strong understanding of business principles, management practices, and people management skills are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead complex tax engagements, providing industry expertise and technical guidance to clients
  • Develop and implement proactive tax strategies that minimize risk and maximize returns for clients
  • Evaluate existing business processes and policies, identifying areas for improvement and advising on policy and tax changes
  • Liaise with government agencies, including the Canada Revenue Agency, on behalf of clients
  • Prepare election forms required in corporate reorganizations
  • Assist in managing the administration of personal and trust tax compliance seasons
  • Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring their needs are met and relationships grow and develop
  • Accountable for engagement planning and scheduling, as well as project financials (budgets, WIPS, timely billing, collection, and variance recognition)
Requirements
  • CPA designation
  • Completion of Level 1 of In-depth Tax Program and other specialist development courses
  • 4-5 years of relevant public accounting or tax consulting experience
  • Extensive working knowledge of Canadian Tax
  • Strong understanding of business, accounting, management, and practice development principles
  • Proven people management, relationship building, and leadership skills
Salary Information

The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
